Lilach Forbes wout branding

In this episode, I talk to Lilach Bullock about how charities use social media – and discover that in many ways the principles are not that different to “for profit” businesses.

Lilach, who is the co-founder of Communicastions Axis with Dan Purvis, is listed in Forbes as one of the top 20 women social media power influencers and as one of the top social media power influencers and is one of the most dynamic personalities in the social media market.

She has experience of working with and providing training for the not for profit sector in relation to the use of social media to raise awareness and promote their causes and her clients have included Jewish Volunteering Network and Children England.

This is what we cover:

  • The importance of brand awareness and its relationship with fundraising
  • Using the right social media platform for your audience
  • Why you need a social media strategy
  • The importance of asking for likes, favours and support
  • Why you need to be creative to get attention
  • Should charities pay someone to manage their social media presence?
  • Is social media worth doing if you can’t update it regularly?
