Episode 6: Mark Leruste talks about Movember

In this episode I talk to Mark Leruste about his involvement with Movember.

Mark Leruste is the Movember country manager for France & Spain and an award-winning social entrepreneur, men’s health activist and author of “It’s Not You, It’s Me” who wholeheartedly believes everyone should pursue their wildest dreams.

This is what we cover:

  • What the Movember is and how it aims to promote mens’ health.
  • Achievements to date – numbers taking part and money raised.
  • When and how it started (11 years ago in a bar in Austrailia).
  • Spread and global reach of the campaign.
  • Funding of research specifically in France, Spain and Switzerland and the work being done by Professor Arnauld Villers at the University of Lille, France.
  • The importance of raising mens’ health issues and traditional reluctance to address this – and getting the right sort of treatment.
  • The Movember Rules.
  • What Mark does when he isn’t working on Movember – his book “It’s not you, it’s me” (see link below) and his retreat in January 2015.
